Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Representative for the Emergency Department in Burlington/Peabody. You will register patients, handle payments, and assist with scheduling in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include managing co-pays and balances, guiding patients through forms, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering a welcoming patient experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 1–3 years in a related role; computer systems and web-based applications experience.
• Skills: Fast, accurate data entry; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for visits and explain the registration process.
• Process co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; reconcile cash drawer.
• Assist with Kiosk check-in and Medicare questionnaire processing.
• Obtain signatures on consent and financial forms; route documents as needed.
• Counsel patients on non-covered services and ABNs; maintain patient confidentiality.

Typing 40 wpm

Bilingual (written & verbal)

Medical terminology knowledge

Education
