Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes patient co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguards cash and reconciles drawer.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage accordingly.
• Obtains signatures on consent and financial forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs.
• Maintains a neat, secure registration desk and protects confidentiality.
• Initiates patient scheduling; uses multiple sources to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments.
• Verifies insurance coverage and discusses financial clearance with patients.
