Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience; experience with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multitask environment with independent decision-making.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR software preferred.
• Strong typing 40+ wpm and bilingual written/spoken skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for visits and explain the registration process; respond to patient questions.
• Process co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguard cash and reconcile drawer.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjust coverage.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and financial documents; scan and file.
• Counsel patients on non-covered services; ABNs, consents and waivers.
• Monitor waiting area and maintain a pleasant patient experience; communicate delays.
• Respond to patient concerns and ensure confidentiality and safety.
• Schedule patients using calls, messages, and various sources; verify information.
• Verify insurance coverage via real-time eligibility and assign guarantor/insurance.
• Communicate financial clearance status; refer to Financial Counseling as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality in remote work; uphold productivity and accuracy.
