Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC seeks a Patient Access Representative to support patient check-in and arrival processes at USC Care Medical Group. The role coordinates new patient scheduling, gathers medical records, and prepares patient charts for physician review, while collecting and verifying insurance information for verification by the Financial Counselor.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
• Demonstrates excellent customer service behavior.

Responsibilities

• Generate a patient MRN using the MRN checker.
• Verify patient identity by name and date of birth.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Determine if patient insurance is contracted with USC.
• Edit insurance information as appropriate.
• Resolve all GE Centricity Alerts.
• Ensure documents are signed and scanned into the EMR (insurance card, ID, forms).
• Obtain current patient demographics in hospital and physician systems.
• Verify and document benefits, coordination, and authorizations as needed.
• Balance cash drawer and process bank deposits as required.
