Good Shepherd Health Care in Hermiston, Oregon is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Representative to help maintain an efficient flow of daily operations, answer phones, schedule appointments, and complete pre-registration with accuracy.

The role verifies insurance, collects co-pays, ensures referrals and prior authorizations are in place, enters data into the electronic health record, and delivers courteous service to patients and providers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hospital or healthcare office experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographic and insurance data and keys into the EHR.
• Accurately schedules, cancels, or reschedules appointments for medical services.
• Completes pre-registration and verifies insurance coverage, referrals, and authorizations.
• Collects co-payments and informs patients of financial responsibilities.
• Scans and attaches insurance benefits and authorization information into the EHR.
• Provides courteous, professional customer service via phone (within 3 rings).
• Receives and delivers messages timely per department guidelines.
• Supports daily hospital workflows and related duties as assigned.
