Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care System in Hermiston, OR seeks a Patient Access Representative to ensure efficient daily operations, manage outbound calls, registrations, and insurance verifications. You will handle payments, pre-registration, and obtain authorizations while delivering courteous service to patients and providers.

Responsibilities include data entry into the electronic health record, messaging, insurance coordination, and securing necessary forms.

Qualifications

• Two years hospital collection experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient demographic and insurance information and enter into the electronic patient record systems.
• Take messages by phone and ensure timely delivery.
• Scan in patient insurance benefits, patient liability estimate, and authorization information into the EHR daily.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service via phone.
• Collect Co-pay or Co-insurance to the correct accounts.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain or verify authorization of care.
• Explain and secure hospital forms and file patient information packets.
• Assist scheduling diagnostic procedures.
• Support the hospital mission, values, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
