Oregon Health & Science University seeks a Patient Access Services Specialist to serve as the first contact for patients, families, and providers. The role blends scheduling, registration, and coordination to ensure a seamless care journey, with duties across front desk and telephone operations.

The position emphasizes accuracy, empathy, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment, supporting OHSU’s mission of accessible, high-quality care in Oregon.

Formación

• Six months of work experience in a medical office setting or one year in a high-volume public contact position.
• Basic keyboarding skills 30–45 wpm.
• Formal OHSU Administrative Internship Program can substitute for one year of experience.
• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent; complete required training and core competency assessment.

Responsabilidades

• Provide professional, welcoming customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff in person and by phone.
• Check in/out patients; verify demographics and insurance information; ensure forms and signatures are complete.
• Collect copayments and payments per OHSU policies; route calls and document accurately.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments across providers and clinics.
• Support front desk and telephone operations; maintain HIPAA-compliant, confidential spaces.
