Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Maryland is seeking a friendly Patient Services Associate to greet patients, register demographics, verify insurance, and collect co-pays at the point of care. You will also schedule visits and assist with test requisitions as needed.

In this role, you will manage patient flow, process Time-of-Service payments, and support the care team with efficient administrative duties while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
• Experience in customer service in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a courteous, professional manner.
• Registers patients and verifies demographic and insurance information.
• Collects co-pays and processes Time-of-Service payments.
• Schedules appointments and referral visits; prepares-test requisitions as needed.
• Answers phones, triages calls, and routes messages.
• Prepares and scans forms and maintains patient records.
