Job summary

Austinpaindoctor is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to handle incoming calls and electronic requests, scheduling appointments, and preparing patient records. You will provide accurate information and maintain a courteous, professional demeanor for patients, families, and care teams.

Requirements include at least 2 years in customer service, a preferred Bachelor’s degree, and ability to work standard hours with some Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or call center settings is a plus.
• Strong data entry and typing accuracy is essential.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance practices.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and electronic requests from patients and families.
• Schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments in the electronic system.
• Notate changes in the patient’s medical record and ensure data accuracy.
• Communicate professionally to de-escalate upset callers and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and adhere to clinic policies.
