Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and exams across hospital and physician practices in Allentown, PA. You will facilitate communication between staff, referral sources and physician offices regarding scheduling concerns.

The role requires confidentiality, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; EPIC EMR familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; 6 months medical office/call center or related experience, or completion of an Associate's Degree.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling patient information.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
Detail-oriented with accurate data entry into electronic systems.
Demonstrates ability to handle stressful situations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Coordinate patient scheduling across multiple hospital and physician practices.
Schedule patients for physician appointments and diagnostic procedures.
Educate patients and offices on protocols, insurance, referrals, and testing criteria.
Monitor department procedures and suggest improvements.
Utilize scheduling software and EMR to facilitate access into the network.
Serve as a resource for staff, physicians, and referring offices.
Strive to reduce errors and rework through careful attention to detail.
