Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• 1 year physician practice experience.
• Minimum one week of on-site training provided by practice.
• Experience in a medical office setting preferred with physician scheduling systems.
• IDX or other practice management system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person or by phone and update insurance/demographics in the practice management system.
• Ensure physician accepts the insurance patients present and verify insurance at arrival if needed.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure patient medical records are available for physician.
• Process HIPAA-related paperwork and other forms as needed.
• Collect co-pays and provide receipts following cash-control processes.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with requests for medical records.
• Perform simple charge entry tasks or enter payments collected from patients.
• Answer phones for the practice and schedule appointments.
• Adhere to HIPAA and all PHI handling requirements.
• Initiate reminder calls for next-day appointments.
• Perform other related duties.
