Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance and ensure physician accepts the presented plan.
  • Notify staff of patient arrival and ensure medical records are available.
  • Process HIPAA paperwork and referrals or authorizations as required.
  • Collect co-pays and provide receipts; assist with simple charge entry or payments.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments; may perform reminder calls.
  • Maintain PHI handling per HIPAA and state requirements.
  • May schedule follow-up appointments. Performs other related duties.
