Responsibilities

Greet patients in person or by phone and update insurance/demographics.
Verify that physician accepts presented insurance; verify prior to visit if possible.
Communicate patient arrival status to staff and ensure medical records are ready.
Process HIPAA paperwork and other forms as necessary.
Collect referrals or insurance authorizations as required.
Monitor waiting room status and inform patients of wait times.
Collect co-pays and provide receipts per cash-control procedures.
May schedule follow-up appointments and provide records request guidelines.
May perform simple charge entry or enter payments and prepare cash deposits.
Support call center duties for Faculty Practice Associates.
Answer phones and schedule appointments.
Follow HIPAA and PHI handling rules.
May initiate reminder calls for next-day appointments.
Perform other related duties.
