Job summary

Sanford Health in Minnesota is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, verify demographics, collect payments, and coordinate referrals. You will be the first contact, delivering a welcoming, safe experience whether on the phone or in the clinic.

You will work with nursing staff and providers to schedule appointments, check in/out, operate a multi-line phone, and support registration queues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics.
• Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms.
• Inform patients about documents and capture signatures.
• Establish financial responsibility and assist with arrangements per policies.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
• Coordinate scheduling with nursing staff and providers.
• Arrange referrals and conduct pre-authorization.
• Check patients in/out and operate a multi-line phone.
• Manage registration work queues and insurance denials.
• Coordinate Telemed appointments and reminder calls.
