Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent (Partially Remote) in Worcester, MA. You will be the front door for patients, coordinating appointments across multiple clinics and handling insurance and demographic information with care.

You will discuss visit types, secure records, and schedule procedures while ensuring accurate data and efficient use of the physician's time. A strong customer service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Preferred: previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience; experience in a health care organization.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls to schedule patient appointments across multiple clinics and campuses.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists.
• Gather and verify patient demographics, insurance information and account guarantor details.
• Obtain necessary medical records as per visit type.
• Schedule in-office procedures and assign rooms as needed.
• Apply knowledge of multiple treatment areas and care priorities.
• Prioritize visits to support efficient use of physician time and resources.
