Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to be the front door for patients, ensuring access to the right care at the right time.

Responsibilities include handling calls, scheduling across clinics, collecting demographics and insurance, and prioritizing visits to optimize physician time. This is a day-shift, full-time role with potential signing bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• English speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: Previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience.
• Preferred: Previous experience in a health care organization.
• Preferred: Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls to schedule patient appointments across multiple clinics.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists.
• Secure patient demographics, insurance information and account details for billing.
• Secure medical records from outside providers as needed for visits.
• Schedule in-office procedures and coordinate room availability.
• Prioritize visits to improve physician time and resource use.
