Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring access to the right care at the right time. You will perform complex scheduling across multiple clinics, while collecting essential demographics and insurance information.

The role emphasizes excellent patient service, clear communication, and coordination with providers, families, and departments to support efficient scheduling and financial processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree in business or healthcare-related field preferred.
• English speaking, reading and writing skills required.
• Previous scheduling and/or phone customer service experience preferred.
• Bilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls from patients, families and providers to schedule appointments across multiple clinics and campuses.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
• Collect patient demographics and insurance information and secure payments as needed.
• Obtain medical records from external organizations as required for visits.
• Schedule in-office procedures and coordinate rooms for procedures.
