Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a patient appointment scheduler to manage calls, coordinate scheduling across clinics, and collect patient information for accurate billing and records. The role supports a multi-campus system with a focus on patient access and service excellence.

The position requires a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and experience in scheduling or call-center environments. A signing bonus may be available and eligibility will be confirmed during interview.

Qualifications

• English speaking, reading and writing skills required.
• - Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.
• - Previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience preferred.
• - Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming phone calls from patients, families, and providers to schedule appointments across multiple clinics.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
• Secure patient demographics, insurance information, schedule financial aspects, and collect liabilities when appropriate.
• Obtain medical records from outside organizations as needed for provider visits.
• Schedule in-office procedures and coordinate room availability.
