Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to be the front door for patients needing care, handling scheduling across multiple clinics and coordinating with providers to ensure timely access to services.

The role emphasizes exceptional patient service, collecting demographics and insurance details, and coordinating with care teams to secure medical records and room scheduling for procedures. A signing bonus may be available during the interview process.

Qualifications

• English speaking, reading and writing skills required.
• Strong intrapersonal and communication skills required.
• Preferred: scheduling or phone customer service experience.
• Preferred: experience in a health care organization.
• Preferred: bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming phone calls from patients, families and providers to schedule appointments across multiple clinics/departments and campuses.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
• Collect patient demographics, insurance information, and account guarantor; update demographics and insurance information as needed; collect patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service.
• Secure medical records from outside health care organizations as needed to provide necessary information to the provider.
• Schedule in-office procedures and arrange the room for the procedure.
