Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to serve as the front door for patients, coordinating appointments across multiple clinics and campuses with a focus on exceptional customer service. You will gather demographics, insurance information and ensure access to care at the right time with the right provider.

The role requires strong English communication, intrapersonal skills, and prior scheduling or health-care experience.

Qualifications

• Required: English speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Required: Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: Previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience.
• Preferred: Previous experience in a health care organization.
• Preferred: Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls from patients, families and providers to schedule appointments across multiple clinics and campuses.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists.
• Gather patient information for the financial aspects of care and update insurance/demographic data.
• Secure medical records from external providers as needed for visits.
• Schedule in-office procedures and allocate rooms accordingly.
