Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registration Clerk for the Registration Services team in Worcester, MA. The role supports patient intake by collecting demographic, insurance and related information into our registration system, ensuring signatures and HIPAA paperwork are in order.

Under supervision, you will verify insurance, schedule ancillary services, collect patient liabilities, and coordinate with multiple departments to support smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of data entry experience.
• Proficient data-entry skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate Windows-based computer systems.
• Strong customer service skills both verbal and written.
• English speaking, reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enters demographic, insurance and related patient information into the registration system.
• Obtains patient signatures on HIPAA and consent paperwork.
• Verifies insurance coverage and follows pre-authorization guidelines.
• Schedules radiology, lab, and ancillary services as needed.
• Handles patient liabilities such as copays and deductibles before or at point of service.
• Performs bed/transfer/admission tasks as required.
• Maintains accurate records and supports billing work queues.
