Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join the Patient Access team. You will register patients, collect demographic and insurance data, explain the process, and help ensure accurate information and timely reimbursement for services.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, proficiency with EHR systems, and strong attention to confidentiality and customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience. Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Register patients presenting for visits and explain the registration process.
• Process patient co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguard cash and receipts.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjust coverage as needed.
• Explain forms and obtain signatures; scan and file documents from registration encounters.
• Counsel patients on non-covered services and ABNs; ensure patient confidentiality.
• Monitor waiting area to ensure smooth flow and a pleasant patient experience.
• Identify and communicate issues impacting timeliness or accuracy of appointments.
• Maintain secure, confidential handling of patient information and equipment.
