Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED equivalent.
• 6 months of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls.
• Provides customer service by relaying information and scheduling reminders.
• Schedule patient appointments and enter demographic and insurance data.
• Verify insurance information and referrals as needed.
• Assist patients with MyChart registration and portal access.
• Manage high volume of telephone calls and route messages to providers.
• Process co-pays, fees, and balance collections; perform simple arithmetic.
• Coordinate referrals and appointments; route faxes and records.
