Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King’s Daughters is seeking a Patient Access Technician to provide clerical and secretarial support for the patient care team and act as a liaison for medical support services. You will collect and retrieve data via computerized systems to keep patient encounters accurate and timely.

You will greet patients, facilitate registration and verification activities, and ensure billing inquiries are handled efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related work experience preferred.
• Minimum six months customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors on arrival.
• Facilitate registration, insurance verification, co-pay collection, authorization data entry and billing inquiries.
• Collaborate with departments on patient access information.
• Conduct pre-registration and insurance verification for CHKDHS services.
• Provide coverage to multiple registration locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
