The Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Patient Registration Technician to greet patients, collect and verify information, and manage registrations with accuracy in our computerized systems.

Responsibilities include scheduling, insurance verification, billing inquiries, and maintaining records, while delivering exceptional customer service to patients and families in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years related work experience preferred.
• Ability to relate well with the public.
• Ability to exchange information clearly in writing and speaking.
• Knowledge of computer data entry processes.
• General knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding and third party payer verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and guide them to the service area.
• Assist with scheduling, registration processes and data collection.
• Verify insurance and handle billing inquiries within computerized systems.
• Maintain medical records and filing systems; support accounts receivable reconciliation.
• May perform charge entry and charge batching as necessary.
• Provide clerical and secretarial support.
