Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is seeking a Lead Patient Registration Technician to oversee day-to-day front office operations, data collection, and data retrieval in computerized systems. The role includes patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, handling co-payments, referrals, authorizations, and responding to billing inquiries.

The position reports to the Manager/Supervisor and requires strong customer service, effective communication, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of computer data entry processes.
• General knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding and third party payer insurance verification processes and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet, instruct, direct and assist patients and visitors upon arrival to the service area or through telecommunication devices.
• Render exceptional customer service to parents, patients, visitors and co-workers.
• Serve as coordinator, expert and patient liaison for healthcare services.
• Assist in maintaining medical records, filing systems, account balances and reconciliation of days accounts receivable.
• Perform charge entry and charge batching processes.
• Provide clerical and secretarial support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
