Job summary

The Patient Account Technician at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters provides essential support to the revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, and collection of co-payments. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six months customer service and/or document imaging experience in a hospital or medical setting.
• Familiar with third party insurance follow-up, cash application, billing processes and credit resolution.
• Proficiency in computer keyboarding skills.
• Ability to relate well with the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately bills, collects and maintains patient accounts.
• Communicates with patients, payers, vendors, hospital departments, and outside parties in relation to patient accounts.
• Greets, instructs, directs and assists visitors to the department.
• Supports the department as needed to ensure services performed positively affect the revenue cycle process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
