Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time float registrar to support the 24/7 hospital. The role involves creating the initial electronic health record, checking in patients, verifying demographics and insurance, and collecting payments.

You will also educate patients on coverage and coordinate scheduling and information for providers. Candidates should have a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and familiarity with EPIC EMR and insurance tools.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Experience with insurance verification/eligibility tools and EPIC EMR preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and excellent customer service are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record for the patient and ensure identifiers to protect safety.
• Check in and register patients; verify demographics, insurance info and collect co-pays.
• Explain insurance coverage and discuss financial responsibilities with patients.
• Coordinate patient scheduling, arrivals and related information to assist care teams.
