Advocate Health seeks a patient access professional to register patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and explain coverage details. You will help maintain accurate records in EPIC EMR while ensuring HIPAA compliance and high-quality customer service.

The role requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and effective communication with patients, staff, and physicians. Training on financial responsibilities and scheduling will be provided.

• Interact with physicians and their staff to resolve care issues.
• Manage payments including cash handling securely.

Responsabilités

• Creates the initial electronic health record foundation used by the care team and ensures patient safety by preventing duplicates.
• Registers patients, verifies demographics and insurance, collects co-pays and out-of-pocket amounts.
• Discusses financial information with patients and directs to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements, obtaining signatures as required.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates cancellations, recalls, and test prep instructions.
• Provides welcoming customer service, answers calls, screens messages, and assists patients with transportation or interpreter services.
• Monitors and prioritizes EHR work queues per department process.
