Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Patient Access representative to create and maintain patient electronic health records and register patients with accurate demographic and insurance information. You will discuss financial responsibilities, collect co-pays, and ensure privacy and HIPAA compliance.

You will also schedule appointments, provide patient guidance for test preparations, greet visitors, answer calls, and support care team operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required with strong data entry and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality practices.
• Experience with EPIC EMR and insurance verification tools preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain patient electronic health records for the care team.
• Check in and register patients, verify demographics and insurance information.
• Explain financial responsibilities and collect co-pays when applicable.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy at all times.
• Schedule appointments and guide patients through test preparations and arrivals.
• Greet patients, answer calls, and assist with transportation or interpreter needs.
• Monitor department work queues and follow established processes.
