Responsibilities

• Provides patient support services including registration, scheduling, greeting, directions, and check-in/check-out.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of department policies and procedures.
• Delivers customer service to patients, families, physicians, and internal/external customers.
• Collects patient insurance information and documents payment methods; may assist with referrals and authorizations.
• Explains benefits and costs to patients and communicates financial responsibility estimates.
• Obtains signatures for consent forms; verifies consent and patient access policies.
