Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to warmly welcome families, register patients, verify insurance, and support scheduling. This role requires accuracy, strong communication, and the ability to navigate multiple systems.

You will assist with demographic data collection, insurance pre-authorizations, and patient portal communications in a fast‑paced pediatric care environment.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge in administrative processes and strong customer service skills.
• Must be able to type at least 35 words per minute.
• Computer literacy and experience with common office software.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and parents, verify demographic and insurance information, and register patients accurately.
• Verify insurance eligibility and manage referrals and pre-authorizations when needed.
• Collect copays and payments, and support departmental cash controls and billing processes.
• Schedule ancillary appointments, update scheduling systems, and ensure clear communication with families.
• Provide general office support and respond to inquiries promptly.
