Qualifications

• 2 years of healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional, pleasant and respectful telephone etiquette.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful and emotional environments.
• High empathy and strong patient/family communication during trauma.
• Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data for registration and billing.
• Verify insurance benefits and patient eligibility for services.
• Explain deposit requirements and negotiate payment arrangements when needed.
• Assist patients to nursing units and provide directions or mobility assistance.
• Ensure compliance with cash policy, government payors and patient safety requirements.
• Train peers and contribute to revenue cycle improvements across locations.
