Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a patient access professional to ensure smooth check-in and discharge, collect demographics and insurance information, verify coverage, and explain policies. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, enter data into EMR systems, and process payments.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This onsite position is 40 hours weekly with evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• No substitution of experience for education allowed.
• 1–2 years of experience in admitting, scheduling, registration, or insurance verification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification procedures preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information; enter into systems.
• Schedule and confirm patient information and appointments.
• Explain insurance and billing policies and procedures to patients.
• Process payments and provide receipts; obtain pre-authorization for procedures when needed.
