Job summary

Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill, NJ is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to oversee the daily registration functions and staffing for optimal patient access. You will promote a positive patient experience, monitor key metrics, and ensure compliant registration processes across shifts.

The role requires a healthcare/administration background with 2+ years in patient registration and 3+ years of supervisory experience, along with proficiency in EPIC/Cerner and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in healthcare or business admin required or in lieu of degree a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a physician office/practice, hospital setting, healthcare insurance provider or other healthcare relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years of patient registration experience required
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a physician practice or hospital environment, healthcare insurance provider or other healthcare relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of patient registration, third-party insurance coverage including managed care plans, benefits, authorizations/referrals and coverage requirements
• Proficient with Computer and Microsoft Office skills and familiar with healthcare EHR applications i.e. EPIC, Cerner
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily registration functions within Patient Access’s scope of work.
• Ensures the operational unit is staffed appropriately and provides positive patient experience.
• Maintains staffing schedules including time off requests and coverage for vacancies.
• Manages on-site operations including MyTime payroll & attendance, downtime support and deposit reconciliation.
• Responds to patient complaints or stakeholder concerns and escalates to leadership as needed.
• Participates in interviewing and hiring new employees and mentors staff.
• Monitors onboarding and ensures new hires are trained and competent in their roles.
• Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements are met and adheres to protocols
• Achieves individual and team performance metrics and conducts quality assurance reviews
