Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient registration, third-party insurance coverage including manage care plans, benefits, authorizations/referrals and coverage requirements
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office; familiar with EHR applications such as EPIC and Cerner
• Excellent written and oral communication; strong problem solving and decision-making in complex situations
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; strong quality assurance and critical thinking abilities
• Supervisory experience in a physician practice or hospital setting is required
• Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience; 3 years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values
• Maintains staffing schedules and coverage with minimal overtime
• Manages on-site operations including payroll, attendance, downtime support, and deposits
• Responds to patient complaints or stakeholder concerns and seeks process improvements
• Participates in interviewing and hiring; assists in onboarding and training of new hires
• Provides constructive communication to service delivery areas and escalates issues timely
• Appraises staff performance and mentors staff; tracks time and attendance for compliance
• Projects a professional demeanor and fosters a positive department attitude
• Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements are met and adheres to protocols
• Aims to meet individual and team performance metrics; completes staff quality assurance reviews
