Job summary

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Specialist Lead to oversee daily operations in the patient access department, ensuring timely and accurate collection of patient demographics, insurance information, charges, and payments, while coordinating patient appointments and access processes.

This full-time role requires leadership, training, cross-training, and collaboration across locations, with a Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm shift and rotating weekends to ensure

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year/Associate degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year experience in patient access, registration, billing, cash collections, insurance, or related medical environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and registration software; ability to travel to multiple locations
• Novant Health revenue cycle university program completed preferred; related leadership certification (e.g., NAHAM CHAM) preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments ensuring accurate and efficient patient access processes
• Assist department leadership with staff assignments and daily operations
• Cross-train in multiple administrative support functions to provide flexibility and continuity of operations
