Novant Health is seeking an administrative professional to accurately register patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and schedule appointments. You will interact with patients, verify signatures, collect co-pays and reconcile payments in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; clerical experience preferred.
• One year of medical office clerical experience required.
• Proficient with EPIC and other medical office software.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to handle confidential information.

Responsabilités

• Welcome patients and accurately complete registration, demographic and insurance information in the electronic medical record.
• Verify and update patient information, obtain required signatures and collect co-pays and outstanding balances.
• Schedule appointments based on patient needs, provider availability and urgency.
• Complete patient check-out, including verifying charges, scheduling follow-up appointments and reconciling daily payments.
• Review and resolve Epic work queues, charge edits, billing errors and claim denials to support accurate and timely reimbursement.
• Partner with coding, revenue cycle and clinical teams to resolve billing, insurance and charge capture issues.
• Serve as a resource to patients and team members regarding registration, insurance and billing questions.
• Answer phones, communicate messages and complete general clerical duties as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates to identify process improvements and support practice goals.
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience through clear communication, empathy and a commitment to keeping patients informed throughout their visit.
