Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing documentation, and ensuring accurate setup of services. You will work with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and confirm eligibility.

Ideal candidates have detail-oriented focus, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate across a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate's degree; healthcare admin/related fields preferred.
• Experience in admin, insurance, billing, call center, or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and medical documentation to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and offer alternatives.
• Coordinate with referral sources and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals in EMR within established timeframes and maintain records.
• Assist with scheduling, inventory coordination, and cross-team communication.
• Answer incoming calls and provide professional patient support.
• Participate in on-call rotations and uphold company policies.
