Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals and reviewing clinical documentation. You will navigate payer requirements, confirm eligibility, and ensure the intake process moves forward smoothly in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Experience in healthcare organizations, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare-certified environment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, clinical documentation, and payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility and document interactions.
• Follow up when documentation does not meet payer requirements and provide alternatives.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using electronic systems.
• Support inventory planning and scheduling with leadership.
