Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately and efficiently. You’ll work closely with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements, confirm eligibility, and move the intake process forward smoothly.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or higher; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Admin, Business Admin or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility, collect payments when applicable, and document interactions.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements, providing updates and alternatives.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians and clinical teams to obtain complete and compliant documentation.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of payer requirements to ensure services are provided appropriately.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient information in electronic systems.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure inventory and services are scheduled appropriately.
• Work with sales, insurance verification and internal support teams to facilitate referrals.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to obtain and manage documentation.
• Ensure appropriate shipping and delivery methods per procedures.
• Answer incoming calls and provide professional assistance to patients and sources.
• Participate in on-call rotation per policy.
• Follow company policies and perform other related duties.
