Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately and efficiently. You’ll work closely with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements, confirm eligibility, and move the intake process forward smoothly.

This role is ideal for detail-oriented work, patient communication, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• One (1) year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma, Associate’s degree or equivalent in related field required.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals, documentation, and payer guidelines to determine eligibility and qualification status.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility and document interactions.
• Contact patients when documentation doesn’t meet payer requirements and provide alternatives.
• Collaborate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain compliant documentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic systems and enter referrals within established timeframes.
