Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring accurate, timely setup of services. You’ll work with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and eligibility.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED and/or Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field required.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred but not required.
• Healthcare organization, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare-certified environment a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Notify patients when documentation doesn’t meet payer requirements with updates and options.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Utilize EMR and online systems to manage documentation accurately and timely.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity/quality standards.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure inventory and services are scheduled properly.
• Collaborate with sales, insurance verification, and internal support teams to facilitate referrals and intake.
• Navigate multiple systems to obtain and manage documentation.
