Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to coordinate referrals, review clinical documentation, and ensure services are set up accurately for patients. You will work closely with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements, confirm eligibility, and move the intake process forward smoothly.

This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy patient communication and collaboration across teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or associate degree required; related healthcare administration experience preferred.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, call center, or customer service is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records, payer guidelines, and documentation to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibilities and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and offer alternatives.
• Collaborate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic systems.
