Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an Outpatient Registration specialist to coordinate patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling at the Center Valley location. You will conduct patient interviews by phone and in person to collect demographic, insurance, and clinical information, ensuring accurate accounts and smooth financial clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience.
• Computer and typing proficiency.
• Ability to interact with a diverse patient population.
• Must pass required training in two attempts or less.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain demographic, insurance (referral/authorization), and other information.
• Engages patients throughout the registration process to create a welcoming experience in person or by phone.
• Ensures referring providers' orders are complete and match the appointment scheduled.
• Obtains a new order prior to test/treatment if incomplete or inaccurate.
• Scans insurance cards, scripts, patient identification, and documentation accurately.
• Secures signatures to ensure timely reimbursement and appropriate service consent.
• Determines and collects patient financial liability and creates estimates when applicable.
• Refers patients to financial resources for counseling as needed.
• Reviews daily schedule and resolves conflicts to improve department flow.
• Maintains compliance with registration accuracy.
