Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an Inbound Patient Registration Specialist to coordinate patient interviews, verify insurance, and schedule appointments with accuracy. You will educate patients about financial responsibilities and work to ensure timely financial clearance.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, confirming referrals, scanning documents, and maintaining a positive, welcoming experience for all patients. Strong computer and data-entry skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• At least 1 year in a healthcare setting such as a hospital or physician's office.
• Computer and typing proficiency.
• Ability to interact with a diverse patient base.
• Must pass required training within two attempts or less.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain demographic, insurance (referral/authorization), and other information.
• Engage patients throughout registration to create a welcoming experience in person or by phone.
• Ensure referring providers’ orders are complete and match the appointment; obtain a new order if needed.
• Scan insurance cards, scripts, patient identification, and regulatory forms accurately.
• Secure signatures to ensure timely reimbursement and collect consent forms as needed.
• Determine and collect patient financial liability and provide estimates; refer to financial resources when needed.
• Review daily schedule for conflicts and coordinate resolutions with staff.
• Maintain compliance with registration accuracy.
