Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. is seeking a Registration Specialist to coordinate patient registration, verify insurance, and schedule appointments in the emergency department.

Conducts patient interviews by phone and in person to gather demographic, insurance, and clinical information to ensure accurate scheduling and financial clearance. You will engage patients throughout the registration process to provide a welcoming experience, ensure orders are complete, and help patients understand

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year customer service or 1 year healthcare environment experience.
• Computer and typing proficiency.
• Ability to interact with a diverse customer base including emergency patients.
• Must pass required training within two attempts or less.
• Remain calm and resilient in a high-stress environment.
• Adapt to changes in volumes and demands.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain demographic, insurance, and other information.
• Engage patients throughout the registration process to create a welcoming experience.
• Ensure referring providers’ orders are complete and match the appointment scheduled; obtain new orders if incomplete.
• Scan insurance cards, scripts, patient IDs, and regulatory forms accurately.
• Secure signatures to ensure timely reimbursement and consent as needed.
• Determine and collect patient financial liability and refer to financial counseling when needed.
• Review daily schedule to identify conflicts and coordinate resolutions.
• Maintain registration accuracy and compliance.
