Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in patient access, scheduling, registration or financial clearance is preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and payer requirements is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and monitors flow to ensure efficient, courteous service.
• Completes registration and verifies patient demographics and insurance information.
• Verifies benefits and collects out-of-pocket balances or estimates due.
• Notifies Financial Counselor for patients needing financial assistance.
• Performs visit closure, schedules follow-up appointments and provides documents.
• Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and pre-certification rules.
• Supports management with process improvements and meets productivity targets.
• Maintains excellent public relations with patients, families, and clinical staff.
