Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient registration, insurance, and hospital billing preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service skills required.
• Keying speed of 40 wpm or better is expected.

Responsibilities

• Registers or pre-registers all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains required authorizations or referrals.
• Coordinates with scheduling departments to reschedule procedures until authorization or patient payment can be arranged.
• Updates schedule for cancellations, rescheduling, and other changes on an ongoing basis.
