Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative to serve as the first touchpoint for patients, ensuring service excellence and accurate data entry. You will handle scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, including collecting payments when needed.

Known for attention to detail and compassionate communication, you will explain costs, options and financial assistance while maintaining data accuracy across Mercy systems and supporting clinical

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with insurance plans and Medicare guidelines is preferred.
• Ability to complete financial clearance and discuss payment options.
• Excellent written and oral communication, with empathy and accountability.
• Ability to maintain patient data accuracy across systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, register and verify benefits for patients.
• Perform pre-certification and financial clearance activities.
• Explain financial responsibility and payment options to patients.
• Collect payments when applicable and document outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient data and support care teams.
